Here I Sit

I haven't been anywhere
or done anything significant
I have not experienced what this world has to offer
I have only seen a very small portion
I depend on the news
or the experience of others to know what's out there
I am but a small pea
in a field of many
My dreams stretch far beyond the sky
...but here i sit
Hoping, praying, wondering when my moment will come
I aspire to venture out there
to catch a mere glimpse...

But here I sit

Between these four walls with no windows or door

like a mouse trapped in a maze of deception

I don't know which way to go

or which way to turn

Every angle, every choice seems wrong

So... here I sit

Waiting, contemplating, excepting defeat

Wallowing in self pity

while raindrops do fall on my head

When the clouds move over, there is sunshine

I felt the rain, I can see the sunshine

There are no windows, or doors, nor is there a roof

The only way out... is up

No longer will I sit

I will climb to higher heights

God always makes a way out of no way
