A Woman's Self Reflection

SELF REFLECTION

WHERE YOU WERE, WHERE YOU ARE, WHERE YOU ARE GOING

A woman is so much more than the flesh she is in. Women are daughters of the king. Now, we know that God created man first but when he created woman he knew that he was saving the best for last.

Who are we?

As women we sometimes fail to realize how great we are. We fail to realize that we were divinely created, that we were perfectly made. I don’t care if you are tall, short, thick, thin, light skinned or nice and chocolate like me; you are the perfect you. No-one else can do you like you can, because they were not created to. You were created just as you are to be just who you are. The question is: Do you know who you are?

God chose us to be the portal through which he creates new life. He breathed life in us so that he may continue to breathe life through us. Psalm 139:13 says “you made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb”. We are precious gifts of God. Not just gifts from God but gifts of God.

·         Romans 5:1 tells us that we have been justified – “Therefore since we have been justified, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

·         1Corithians 6:19-20 tells us that we are bought with a price – “Do you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God you are not your own; you were bought with a price”. Therefor honor God with your body.

·         Colossians 1:13-14 tells us that we have been redeemed and forgiven – “ For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and bought us into the kingdom of the son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins”.

·         Romans 8:28 tells us that we are assured – “And we know that all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”. So walk in your purpose.

·         2 Timothy 1:7 says – “For God did not give us a spirit of fear but a spirit of power, love and self-discipline”. It is time to tap into that power.

·         2Corithians 5:17declares that “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come”. Reflect on where you were, where you are, and where you are going.

We are daughters of the king. A woman is so much more than the flesh she is in.

A women’s work is never done

There are so many roles that women have to fill. We have to be mothers and for some of us fathers too. We have to be nurses, chefs, house keeper, teachers, managers, counselors, providers, friends and lovers. We have to be everything for everyone in our lives. Then, on top of all that we have to deal with ourselves – body changes, as a woman our bodies go through so many changes; we have to deal with our physical and emotional health. We have to be strong. Proverbs 11:16 reminds us “The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down”. When you reflect on your life which woman are you and which woman will you choose to be. Wise or Foolish.

Examine ourselves

It is time for women to recognize how powerful you are. Not only is it time to realize how powerful you are but it is also time to begin to tap into that power. It is time to take control of your life.  What better time than now. Day after day you have been putting up with the same old foolishness. You’ve been excepting things you don’t have to except. You’ve been doing things you know you should not do. But you do it anyway. The reason for that for many women is because you don’t know your worth. Reflect on where you were last year then think about where you are now. Did anything change? Are you where you want to be? Is your life what you expected it to be? Whatever your answer – have you asked yourself the question why? What have you done and what are you now doing to make your life what it is today? Are you willing to own up to your responsibility for your choices? “If you’d like to know what your choices have been, look at yourself and the life you have lived. What you see is the choices you’ve made”. Reflect on where you want to go from here. Are you willing to do the work it will take to get to where you want to go? Keep in mind that it may not be easy but anything is possible when you put your faith and trust in God who strengthens you. “Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines” Should you reach, what feel is the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on. Look towards the hill from which comes your help. Know that trouble don’t last always. A woman can overcome any obstacle when she believes she can. Know who you are. Women are daughters of the king, a precious and perfect creation of worth who hold great value with God. Begin building your tomorrow right now. Walk in the light of what God has created you to be. Know that a women’s power for living an abundant life comes from the word of God.

When I reflect on where I was compared to where I am, I get excited about where God is taking me. Now, I say where God is taking me because I make it a point to make him a part of every plan. His will and his will alone be done in my life. I can honestly say that I am a better woman today than I was yesterday because God has blessed me to be able to love myself for who I am and to have faith and believe in who he has created me to be.

So I say to you today: Love yourself, Love God, Set Standards for your life and do not be afraid to live by those standards. A women’s worth is more than the flesh she is in.
